About
Welcome to the PressRow theme for WordPress!
In order to take advantage of everything that PressRow has to offer, you’ll need to follow some very simple instructions. I’ve highlighted the steps below in a very easy-to-follow format, so hopefully you’ll be up and running at full speed in no time!
Creating Your “Archives” Link
In order to get your “archives” link to look like the one on this test installation, follow these steps:
- On your WordPress administration panel, click on the “Write” link in the navigational bar.
- Two links will appear in the sub-navigational menu - “Write Post” and “Write Page.” You’ll want to click on “Write Page.”
- Do not fill in a title or populate the posting area!
- On the right side of the page, you’ll see “Page Template,” and you may need to expand the box (in WP 2.0+) in order to see available options. Instead of the default template, choose the one called “Archives.”
- Next, open up the “Post Slug” box, and then enter “archives” in the field. It is extremely important that you enter “archives” (not in quotes) as I have written it here. Otherwise, your navigational link to “archives” will not work!
- Click the “Create New Page” button to finish up. You’re done!
Creating an “About” Page
Setting up your “about” page is simple if you follow these steps:
- On your WordPress administration panel, click on the “Write” link in the navigational bar.
- Two links will appear in the sub-navigational menu - “Write Post” and “Write Page.” You’ll want to click on “Write Page.”
- Enter whatever you like in the “Page Title” and “Page Content” fields.
- On the right side of the page, you’ll notice a heading that is called “Post Slug.” Expand the heading to reveal a field, and then enter “about” in that field. Enter it exactly as shown here (without the quotes), or else your navigational link will not work!
- Click the “Create New Page” button, and you’re done!
Easy, huh?
